So this is the last post of my Santa Monica beach adventures. We wrapped up our weekend with good food! We got lucky that we were in the area during DINE L.A. Restaurant week. We got to try lots of good food for less. Since it was our birthday weekend, I had to dress up for the occasion :)
Ever since I saw the D&G plum lace dress on Bree from Desperate Housewives, I wanted a plum lace dress. It looked so classy and lady like. Truly a timeless classic that could be worn by 20s-60s. At the time, I was still a medical student. Even now, I wouldn't buy a dress for $8000. For the longest time, I couldn't find one that looked classy like the one Bree wore.
now 40% off at $4,797 from $7,995
You've probably already seen or heard of this DVF dress. The DVF Zarita dress was finally on sale in plum during the Nordstrom anniversary sale. I thought the color was very nice and I didn't really have to alter at all. I bought this in size 0. The fabric is made out of lace but it's still soft and non irritating to sensitive skin. The length is perfect for petite even though I bought it in regular sizing. The zipper in the back is a double zipper so you can zip up from the bottom if you want a slit. The waist had some extra fabric and I decided it didn't warrant alterations because I've tried lace dresses that were skin tight and the overall look was not very ladylike. I wanted a sophisticated, classy lace dress and this was it! Brownie points for zero alterations needed!
DVF Zarita Dress (in plum, 0) back to $325 (similar now for $71@JCREW, code: DEPTOFSALE)
now on sale at SaksOff5th $167.99 from $325
As you can see, you can zip up from the bottom to make a slit.
That's all folks! Have a great weekend :)
You look very elegant and beautiful in this plum lace dress!
