The Best Thin Jacket: Anthropologie Marais Anorak Military Jacket

I am loving the hot weather with a cool breeze.  Ever feel like you are walking outside frying in the sun and once you sit down in a coffee shop, you freeze like a popsicle?  I do.  So I like having a thin jacket.  For those nights with a cool breeze and really strong AC in coffee shops.  I came across this military jacket at Anthropologie and I just love the fit and details.

I've been playing with contrast in color.  So I decided to go with a black tank with white lace tank overlay and crochet shorts.  Of course I have to toss in a pair of nude wedges to elongate those legs!  I love the drape of the lace top from Urban Outfitter.  It was on sale back in early June.  The high low drape is very elegant and chic.  Great for layering.

I just love the details on the shoulder, it gives the military jacket a feminine touch :)

These shoes have a very stretchy band, which makes it very comfortable.  Love it :)

I've been wearing this jacket a lot.  Even wore it to intern retreat.  This is just a regular everyday photo before I left for retreat.  Casual and chic.  Perfect for my weekend style.

WORK OUTFIT: Banana Republic Sloan Piped Sheath Dress

Hi everyone!  My head feels so light after I had 6 inches of hair chopped off.  I'm so excited to show you guys this dress.  I love how it accentuates my waist and makes my petite body look curvy.  It's such a beautiful dress made with thick fabric that is flexible and stretchy so it's very easy to move and run around at work.  It's so sheek and versatile!  I can wear it under a lab coat for work, under a blazer at conferences and meetings, or toss on a sweater on top and turn it into a nice pencil skirt.  Banana Republic does it again!  This dress has the perfect cutting for a petite girl and the vertical line details help elongate my body.  This dress is definitely a keeper for me.

I absolutely love these shoes.  They are SO comfortable.  I can walk MILES in them with comfort.  The leather is great for wide feet because it conforms to the shape of your feet.  It's a wardrobe staple for me because I can wear these with jeans, shorts, skirts, and dresses.

LOVE. SPRING. FLORAL: ASTR Floral lace Top

For those that follow me on instagram, I posted this outfit before.  But, I didn't have a chance to blog about it till now!  I really love this floral top for summer.  I love the lace detail on the V neck that gives a semi-off shoulder look without being too revealing.  The material is very thin and breathable.  But, it is not transparent because of the floral pattern.  The top covers your skin from direct sunlight without making you too hot.  I also love the high-low draping design.  Goes great with denim or linen shorts for summer.  Very ladylike and sheek look~

BEAUTY BATTLE: WAY TOO MANY CONCEALERS

CONCEALER COMPARISON

I don't sleep much so concealer is something I use everyday.  So I decided to compare all the concealers out there that I've heard good things about :).  I have dark circles and dry skin.  I never touch up or look in the mirror to check how I look during work.  I don't really have wrinkles but I do have extremely fine lines that is only noticeable up close.  So this is what I look for in a concealer.  1. last all day, 2. brightening effect, 3. creamy and does not crease, 4. blend ability for application sanity sake.  Here are my results

So here are my concealer picks listed in order of preference

I was debating between YSL, NARS, and Maybelline.  The price for YSL is a bit much for the amount you get so I'm going to try out Maybelline Fit Me concealer during residency and see how I like it.  Shall I develop wrinkles in the near future, I will likely switch to NARS.  For now, I prefer more radiance for a fake awake look.  And I suppose if I had more disposable money, I just might splurge and get the YSL haha.  Until then, I'm pretty happy with Maybelline Fit Me Concealer.  :)  Yes, I am clearly one of those people that does a lot of research before I make a final purchase.  Anyhow, if you are looking for a concealer or is not happy with yours, I wish you luck in finding a concealer you love!

WORK OUTFIT : Banana Republic Floral Overlay Blouse

Hi everyone,

I am starting a work wardrobe series!  I mainly wear scrubs and tennis shoes in the hospital so my work wardrobe series will mainly be outfits suitable for clinic/office wear.  I'm kick starting this series with the Banana Republic Floral Overlay Blouse.  I love this blouse because it is very versatile.  You can pair it with  chino shorts, blazer, and a pair of sandals for weekend casual wear.  Or you can toss on a pair of trousers/ pencil skirt with ballet flats for weekday office wear.  The fitting is true to size.  The cutting also accentuates the waist so it won't look boxy/shapeless from the side.  The material is not stretchy.  My only complain about this top is that the floral overlay material is rather stiff so when I sit down, the top folds and wrinkles around my waist line.

You will see me wear this pair of knit skirt a lot.  It's so comfortable and stretchy.  I love the cutting because it's a pencil skirt that is really slim fit from hip to knee.

Lastly, I mentioned on my older post that I would compare the XS from PXXS.  My final verdict is to return mainly because my hubby isn't a fan of the top.  He still thinks it's too loose.  This is what PXXS looks on me.
