This is just a quick post because the code HOTOUT will expire soon.  It's such a good deal to get quality Jcrew pants for $29.99 (if you are okay with colors like khaki and white).  These arrived at my door step yesterday and I finally got a chance to try them on today.  I am beyond pleased with the quality and cutting (especially for the low price tag!!!)  I would say it is comparable to the Banana Sloan trousers.  I bought both pair in 00p and it fits me like a glove.  They are very versatile, and classic wardrobe staple.  Can't wait to wear them when I start ambulatory care rotation.

WORK OUTFIT: THE INTERVIEW ATTIRE

Hope everyone had a great weekend!  July is a time when medical students register on ERAS and start applying to medical schools.  Nervous, stressed, overwhelmed, maybe still studying for step 2, or took it but trying to not think about what you got wrong.  You are not alone, everyone feels the same way.  Since this is a fashion blog and I know some of my followers are medical students, I decided to do a post on interview attire.  I once talked to a program director about what to wear and she told me the following.
1. If you are a girl, do not wear a skirt
2. Do not wear black
3. You want to stand out, but don't wear colors like red (don't stand out in a bad way)
The reasoning is this.  Residency directors interview hundreds of students so you want to stand out.  Majority of medical students will wear black, and most girls will wear skirts.  So if you wear grey, you will stand out in a pool of black suits.  Of course, how well you do on interview matters most.  But, perhaps the initial impression will be your appearance.

 I personally like one button suit for petites like myself because it makes my torso look shorter, giving the illusion that my legs are longer.  I find the quarter sleeves to be very fashionable but still appropriate for formal events or interviews.

This is just a picture from J.crew website.  I would not suggest anyone to wear a collar shirt with a black trim.  It's a little too fashionable for interviews.  I will stick with the plain collar shirt.  I mainly wanted to show the suit and the color.  I love grey, and love light heather grey even more.  It's so chic and sleek.  Great for summer, not too gloomy, not too serious but still professional.

Final advice to anyone going to an interview.  Prepare, sleep, be honest, and just be yourself :)

I wear 00p for the blazer and the pants.  I will take pictures of me in this outfit in the near future.  Inpatient ward has been rough.  Sorry, I don't have pictures this week ~

This hoodie runs small.  xxsp was very slim fit on me.  The ruffle gave the top a peplum look.  I absolutely love it.  Will show pics of top on me later :)  I love wearing it casually with my scrub pants on call days, pair it with a pair of tights when I study in coffee shops.
