WINTER PINK & GREY

We've been looking at houses in Claremont and passed by this little park that ended up being the perfect backdrop for this week's photos.  Ever since I saw a fireplace made with stacking stones, I've been obsessed with it.  So when I saw the stacking stone wall, I just had to stop and take some photos there.  I've been looking for a pink wool jacket this winter and I finally found one that fits me!  It's so warm and comfy.  This shade of pink matches casually with jeans and drapes elegantly over a dress.  I can never say no to versatility.

The fabric feels like mohair but it's soft and not irritating to the skin at all.  It is lined.  It is 30% wool, 25% polyester, 23% alpaga, and 15% mohair.  Very warm and comfortable.  Was on sale for $39.99!

Anthropologie RUFFLES & LACE IN THE SUN: ZARA SALE - EMBROIDERED SLEEVELESS JUMPSUIT

Finally got a weekend off so my hubby and I went to celebrate and spent the weekend at Santa Monica beach.  What a lovely stay at Shutters on the Beach.  I loved the 3 shower head shower and the Jacuzzi bath.  It was so relaxing to just stare out into the ocean and fall asleep under the sun.  And we got lucky, our weekend fell right into the DINE LA week so we got to try so many delicious foods for a fraction of the price.  It wasn't that hot on the beach so I tossed on a hoodie I posted on this blog a couple weeks ago.  Without further ado, here are some pictures!

NORDSTROM ANNIVERSARY SALE FAVORITES ADD ON
BP skinny sweatpants great for petites

BP SKINNY MINI SWEATPANTS (Junior) $24.90
I LOVE LOVE LOVE these sweats.  Slim fit with a loose casual look that is chic.  It's thin so it won't make the legs look bigger, but it's thick enough so it doesn't look see through.  It's great for petites!  The length (29' inseam) is PERFECT.  I highly recommend this.  Great for lounging, working out, long study nights, sleepwear, or a casual sporty look.

FASHION FOR LESS Part 1

I fell in love with the T by Alexander Wang skirt on Wendy’s Lookbook post when it first came out.  But, I didn’t want to pay over $100 for a weekend casual skirt.  Then I went shopping at Zara recently and found the draped mini.  This is definitely a keeper for me.  It’s comfortable, stylish, and at a decent price for a fun weekend skirt.

Top: same styled skirt worn by Mila Kunis in Friends With Benefits
Middle: Zara Trafaluc Draped Mini  for $16.90
Size reference: I’m 5’2, I wear 00p to 000p, xxs, inseam is 28.  Size small in Zara’s trafaluc draped mini is the smallest size and it fits me like a glove.  Since it’s cotton, it’s very comfortable.  The length hits above knee and the skirt moves up to mid thigh when I sit down.  With the V shaped opening in the front and the length on me, I still feel comfortable sitting down.  For taller girls, this dress may flash people when you sit down.  Alternative would be BCBG’s silvie power skirt. ($198)  This is a body con dress so it’s not cotton.  It does stretch a lot and does not move up as move as cotton dresses.  It’s a relatively old style so you may find it on ebay.  Sizes run small.  I tried on an xs and had to pull really hard to get the waist of dress up my hip.  Size small in the BCBG body con power skirts are way more comfortable and still has a slim fit effect on me.

My overall verdict: Zara skirt is a keeper for me.  The BCBG silvie power skirt was a return for me because I like the BCBG Azria skirt more.
